Alex Surubariu is the founder of Coach Alex’s Tumble Spot, bringing over 15 years of coaching and competitive experience in tumbling, gymnastics, and acro. Originally from Romania, Alex has trained and coached internationally, working alongside and under former Olympic athletes—including Teodora Ungureanu and Sorin Cepoi.

Throughout his career, Alex has helped athletes of all levels—from first-time tumblers to elite performers. He’s had the privilege of coaching gymnasts who went on to compete at the Olympic level and brings that same high-quality, detail-focused instruction to every student he works with.

Known for his calm, encouraging coaching style, Alex excels at breaking down complex skills and helping students progress with confidence and proper technique. As a USA Gymnastics (USAG) Certified Coach, SafeSport trained, and First Aid/CPR certified, Alex brings both expertise and care to every session.His classes emphasize strong fundamentals, safe progressions, and a positive learning environment.

Now based in North Carolina, Alex is also a proud husband and father to two young daughters. His experience as a parent helps him connect with families and understand the importance of trust, safety, and joy in every class.

Through Coach Alex’s Tumble Spot, he’s created a place where athletes can grow—on the mat and beyond.
